Frequently asked questions

1. Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds with the same chemical composition, crystal structure and optical properties as mined diamonds. The main difference is their origin — they are grown in a controlled laboratory environment rather than formed beneath the earth.

2. What diamond quality does FOCUS use?

Our core diamond standard is D–E colour, VVS2 clarity or better, with excellent cut performance where applicable.

We believe this level already delivers a bright, clean and beautifully brilliant appearance for everyday wear. Rather than paying more for differences that may be difficult to see in real life, we prefer to give you more freedom to choose the design, shape or diamond size you truly love.

3. Why can’t I choose between lots of different diamond grades?

Because we believe the technical selection should be our job.

We carefully select diamonds that meet FOCUS standards for quality, proportions and visual appearance, so you do not have to compare endless combinations of colour, clarity and cut.

We choose the diamond. You choose the one you love.

4. Why are FOCUS prices lower than some traditional jewellery retailers?

Our prices are lower by design — not because we lower our standards.

FOCUS uses lab-grown diamonds, operates primarily online and keeps the buying process intentionally simple. This helps reduce many of the costs associated with traditional jewellery retail, such as large physical stores, complex inventory and unnecessary product variations.

We also set our diamond standard at a level we believe already looks exceptional in everyday wear, rather than asking customers to pay more for higher grades that may offer very little visible difference.

That means more of your budget can go towards what you can actually see and enjoy:

the design you love, the shape you want and a larger diamond.

Lower price does not mean lower expectations.

It means making different choices about where the value goes.

5. Do FOCUS diamonds come with certification?

Selected centre diamonds include an independent diamond grading certificate where specified on the product page.

Certification availability may vary depending on the diamond size and jewellery design.

6. What gold does FOCUS use?

Our core collection is crafted in solid 14K gold, available in selected white gold, yellow gold and rose gold options depending on the design.

7. Is your jewellery solid gold or gold plated?

Our fine jewellery is made in solid 14K gold unless clearly stated otherwise on the product page. It is not simply gold plated.

8. Why does FOCUS use 14K gold?

We choose 14K gold for its balance of beauty, strength and everyday wearability.

It offers the look and feel of fine jewellery while providing greater durability for jewellery designed to become part of everyday life.

9. How do I find my ring size?

Visit our Ring Size Guide for simple ways to measure your size at home and view our international size conversion chart.

FOCUS ring sizes are displayed using the Australian / UK letter sizing system.

10. What if I am between two sizes?

If you are between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size for a more comfortable fit.

Wider bands may also feel tighter than delicate rings, so sizing may vary slightly depending on the design.

11. Can my ring be resized?

Many gold rings can be resized, but this depends on the design, setting and amount of adjustment required.

Full eternity bands and certain complex designs may have limited resizing options.

If you are unsure, please contact us before ordering.

12. Are FOCUS pieces made to order?

Some FOCUS pieces are made or prepared to order based on your selected size, metal colour and product specifications.

Estimated production or processing times will be shown on the relevant product page where applicable.

13. Do you offer custom jewellery?

Yes. If you are looking for a different diamond size, specification, metal option or a more personalised piece, please contact our Customer Care team.

Tell us what you are looking for and we will let you know what may be possible.

14. Can I choose a larger diamond than the options shown online?

Possibly.

Our online collection keeps the standard buying process simple, but additional diamond sizes may be available through a custom enquiry.

Please contact us with the design and diamond size you are interested in.

15. How long will my order take?

Production and processing times vary depending on the piece.

Once your jewellery is ready and dispatched, you will receive tracking information where available.

16. Can I return or exchange my jewellery?

Customised, engraved, resized or specially altered pieces may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns.

17. Does FOCUS offer a warranty?

Yes.

Our Lifetime Warranty is provided in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

18. How should I care for my jewellery?
